Brain Injury Services is dedicated to the inclusion of individuals with ABI into the community. Experienced, highly skilled staff offer programs and services that range from 24-hour residential care to semi-independent transitional living, to independent living supported by an extensive community services program.  There are two ways to access services.  Publicly funded clients, supported through the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care or the Hamiltion, Niagara, Haldimand, Brant Local Health Integration Network, access services through the parent organization, Brain Injury Services.  Privately funded clients, typically supported by insurance or other private sources, access all the same services through the fee- for-service division, Step Up!, ABI Recovery.

Adults living with the effects of an acquired brain injury in the South Central region of Ontario are offered a full range of rehabilitation services, including skill training and community re-integration.  The agency is a recognized leader in complex care, including behavioural and cognitive rehabilitation.  Residential rehabilitation services are available at six community-based group homes that are designed to accomomodate clients with complex physical, cognitive and/or behavioural needs.  Also, there are 13 apartment units available for semi-independent, transitional living.  Community outreach services are available at the Hamilton main office and at branch offices in Brant, Norfolk and Haldimand counties.  An extensive group services program is available allowing clients to enjoy a wide variety of social, recreational and learning activities.
